We spent a few days in London to register Jacob as a US citizen. Not the most straightforward of procedures! After previous experiences of the american embassy, and after having triple checked with them on what we needed to do, we still ended up having difficulties on the day, and the kids (other 3) and I had to run back there (even though they were really enjoying a really empty Hamley's store (toys), in order for me to sign a page of the form. Since I hadn't expected to be going in, I had all the items with me in my backpack that were not permitted, i.e mobile phones, cameras, liquids etc.It was quite an ordeal getting us thru security, also had to drink the boiling water I had in a flask for Jacob's bottles - not very amusing. A few hours later and he is now the proud owner of his US citizenship certificate, passport etc. Worth it in the end.
With what was left of the day, we visited the Natural History Museum. The kids have been wanting to go there since we drove past the building last year. It is quite impressive. The exhibits were fantastic, they especially loved the animated T-Rex. Josh stuck his toungue out at it... good thing it wasn't real!
